The Royal Trek

The Royal Trek is an easy trek with magnificent views of the Mountains such as; Fishtail (Machhapuchhre), Annapurna range, Langtang, Dhaulagiri, Lamjung Himal and explore the ethnic culture of local villages.

The trek was created by Prince Charles who had once hiked along this route during his visit to Nepal in 1980. The royal trek is also one of the short and best trekking trails along the Annapurna region in Nepal.

Best Time:
  • Spring (Mar, Apr, May): You can see the national flower of Nepal rhododendron, green forest, best mountain view
  • Autumn (Sept, Oct, Nov): You can view green forest as well as the best mountain view
  • Monsoon: Fine but it’s a rainy season, you should have a raincoat, be careful from the leech. In this season, most preferable for nature photographers who like flora and fauna, green forest, river, waterfalls and many more
  • Winter: Even though you can view the mountain but the weather is bit cold (should wear warm clothes)

The Royal Trek Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in TIA, Kathmandu (1320 m)

Welcome to Tribhuvan Int’l Airport, Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal! One of the representatives from Mount Mania will be waiting to welcome you with fresh Nepali garlands and then transfer to your hotel by private vehicle. You will meet with trek guide and then brief about your trek.

Day 2Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (820 m): 6-7 hrs

After breakfast, we leave our hotel early morning for a drive with scenic views along the road to Pokhara via Prithivi national highway. The drive could take roughly 7-8 hrs to reach Pokhara. An alternative way to reach Pokhara is by taking a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara for 35 minutes. Overnight at Pokhara hotel on Bed and Breakfast plan. (B/B)

Day 3Drive from Pokhara to Kalikasthan (1350 m): 1 hr and 4-5 hrs trek

After breakfast, we will head to Bijayapur by bus to start our trek. The trekking trail traverses the paddy fields and heads off to a small river. We will cross the river and descend to Kalikasthan. After taking some rest, we will explore the surrounding area. Overnight at Kalikasthan.

Day 4Trek from Kalikasthan to Syaklung (1715 m): 5-6 hrs

After breakfast, our day starts by passing through different villages. The trekking trail that we follow also passes through a ridge, which offers a massive view of Lamjung Himal and Annapurna Mountain. We will also know about the local life, visit traditional villages and step into the beautiful rhododendron forest. Overnight at Syaklung.

Day 5Trek from Syaklung to Chisapani (1550 m): 5-6 hrs

After breakfast, we will start our trek bit early in the morning and pass through the ethnic Gurung village. We will explore the local lifestyle, forests filled up with rhododendron and pine trees. After 400m descend and 600m ascend, we will arrive at Chisapani, from where you can view the Himalayas, such as Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges. Overnight at Chisapani.

Day 6Trek from Chisapani to Pokhara

After breakfast, we will start our last day of trekking. We will trek downhill and reach the Rupa Lake. Then we will follow the trail that passes through scenic nature. We will explore the natural beauty of the Begnas Lake area. It is the second largest Lake, after Phewa Lake and is the eight largest lakes in Pokhara Valley. Overnight at Pokhara.

Day 7Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu: 6-7 hrs drive

After early breakfast at a hotel in Pokhara. We will check-out from hotel and catch our tourist bus which leaves at 7 AM to drive us to Kathmandu and the driving will be a fantastic experience as we drive past many small towns on the way and we are able to see rural settlements, gushing rivers, terraces, and green rural landscapes. We will stop for lunch in between the travel from Pokhara to Kathmandu. After 6 hours drive, we will arrive at Kathmandu and stay overnight at your hotel. One of the Mount Mania representatives will invite you to attend a farewell dinner with a cultural show. Enjoy the fullest.

Day 8Departure

Mount Mania representative will help you to transport to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu by private vehicle before 3 hours to your scheduled flight.
