The third edition of Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) International Langtang Marathon is going to be held on April 25, 2018. Marathon is going to be organized under men’s and women’s categories in Langtang Region.
Stating the major objective in Official Langtang Marathon website, “International Langtang Marathon’s objective is to foster the number of tourists and create a favorable environment in this region along with skimping the number of rare and elusive Red Panda found within this enchanting woodland.”

The marathon will start at Kyanjin Gompa and end at Syabrubensi. Kyanjin Gompa is a monastery in a Kyanjin settlement at an altitude of 3870 meters from where the astonishing views of gigantic mountains and peaks look very impressive. The village of Kyanjin Gomba is the last destination for most of the trekkers. The route of the marathon will go through Godha Tabela, Riverside, Lama Hotel, Rimche, Sherpagaun, Khanjim and Briddim

April 22: Drive to Syabrubensi and Hike to Khanjim
April 23: Trek to Ghoda / Thangsyap
April 24: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa
April 25: Race start from Kyanjin Gomba to Syabrubensi
Closing Ceremony: 1:00 PM at Syaprubesi
April 26: Drive back to Kathmandu

TAAN International Langtang Marathon Prize
Both Under men’s and women’s category, the first winner will get Rs.100,000, the second winner will get Rs.75000, the third winner will get Rs.50000 with Medal and Certificate. Not to miss, all athletes will get ‘Certificate of Participation’.
TAAN has been organizing this event for two years to mark the anniversary of massive earthquake 2015 that hugely affected Langtang region. TAAN has launched a trail reconstruction program and constructed a bridge in the Langtang Region in association with Germany-based DAV Summit Club.
