Manang Short Trek

Manang Short Trek is situated in the broad valley of the Marshyangdi River to the north of the Annapurna mountain range. The river flows to the east. To the west, the 5,416-metre Thorong La pass leads to Muktinath shrine and the valley of the Gandaki River.

Best Time:
  • Spring (Mar, Apr, May): You can see the national flower of Nepal rhododendron, green forest, best mountain view

  • Monsoon: Fine but it’s a rainy season, you should have a raincoat, be careful from the leech. In this season, most preferable for nature photographers who like flora and fauna, green forest, river, waterfalls and many more

Manang Short Trek Itinerary

Day 1Drive from Kathmandu to Chame by jeep

After having a hot breakfast, we will drive from Kathmandu to Chame by Jeep. It will take 7-8 hours of a drive which has black-topped road till Besi-Sahar and after Besi-Sahar is off-road till Chame. Chame is the headquarters of Manang District in the Gandaki Zone of northern Nepal. Overnight in a Teahouse.

Day 2Chame to Pisang (3190m)

After having a breakfast, we will start our trek. The trail will traverse through the left side of the valley and after apple farm village Bartang you will cross the suspension bridge and after a bit uphill you will reach another beautiful village called Dhikurpokhari. The walk will be very beautiful. You can view Annapurna II, Annapurna IV, and the Pisang peak during the trek. Overnight in a Teahouse.

Day 3Pisang to Manang (3519m)

After having a breakfast, you will have two choices for the trail. One trail goes through high above the valley from the right side and another trail goes through the valley from the left side. You can see many villages, Monastery along the way after Humde the scenery slightly changes. It will become more desert and dry. You will see Annapurna III, Chulu peak, Gangapurna, Khangsahar during the trek. Overnight in a Teahouse.

Day 4Rest day around Manang

As like previous day, first, we will have a breakfast. Today we will rest and explore around Manang. We will go to Ice lake (4600m) for the excursion. It will take 5-6 hours back and forth. You will enjoy the trial and can view amazing mountains during the walk. Also, you can see the vast detail of higher Marsyangdhi valley. Overnight in a Teahouse.

Day 5Trek back from Manang to Chame

After breakfast, we will trek back from Manang to chame by following the trial to Humde. This walk is quite easy and can enjoy the landscape, forest, and some wild animals. Overnight in a Teahouse.

Day 6Drive from Chame to Kathmandu

Next morning, after having a breakfast, we will take a jeep from Chame to Kathmandu which is about 7-8 hours of drive. We will drop to your hotel in Kathmandu.
