Langtang trek 5 days offers the view of the most amazing valley of Langtang region, where you can visit the Langtang National park and then trek to the end of the valley to view wonderful monastery Kyangjin Gompa and Himalayas. Q. Can we trek the Langtang Trek without a guide? 

A. Yes, you can do the Langtang trek without a guide. But, the trekking routes are quite confusing, lots of different ways, numerous dense forests. This makes a problem for solo travelers. Sometime you may get lost on the trail. 

Due to limited tea-houses in the Langtang region, there might be hard to get a room in high peak season. For that, the guide will help to book the room in teahouse prior to your arrival.

Q. How difficult is Langtang Trek? 

A. This is the most frequently asked questions that we receive often. First and foremost, you should be able to understand your physical fitness level. How much can you walk per day? 

Langtang Trek is a moderate level of a trek. You don’t need any trekking experience or first-time trekker. For Langtang Trek 7 Days, you should able to walk on an average of 5-6 hours a day.

On day 5, when reaching the highest point of Kyanjin Ri (4500m) can be a little tough. Because we have to wake up pretty early to avoid cold wind. After reaching to Kyanjin Ri, you will be amazed to see the sunrise and view of Langtang Lirung and wonderful glaciers. If you complete this day, the next day is quite easy to trek down around Langtang Region.

If you have a willing power or dedication to complete the Langtang Valley Trek. Then, it’s not that much difficult. Q. What is the maximum altitude that we can reach in Langtang Trek?  

A. The maximum altitude that you can reach in Langtang Valley Trek is Kyanjin Ri (4500m). But, if you want to extend the Langtang Trek to one more night, then you can reach ever higher altitude – Tserko Ri (5000m). From the top, you can view the amazing mountains and valley. 

Q. How is the transportation from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi start point?  

A. To reach the starting point of Langtang Trek, you have two option. The first option is to take four wheels private jeep, which can accommodate 7 people. Whereas, the second option is to book a local bus ticket from Machhapokhari, Kathmandu.

While traveling from the local bus, you can interact with local people, But, do expect some crowd, local gossips, too many stops and opportunity to make new local friends. It will take  7-8 hours drives to reach the starting point of Langtang Trek.

Traveling from private jeep is more convenient and comfortable than the local bus. You will even reach quickly to Syabrubesi (5-6 hours). 

Q. Do we need a Travel Insurance? 

A. Yes, you need a travel insurance to overcome the unforeseen circumstances such as; Bad weather (Snow, Storm, Landslides and other natural disasters), Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), food poison and physical accident.

Q. What kind of food and accommodations can be found in Langtang Trek? 

A. On 2015 earthquake, Langtang valley was the most affected trekking region in Nepal. Lots of teahouses were destructed. But, after a few years, lots of new teahouses were built with better facilities – room with attach bathroom, wifi, hot shower and more. 

You can find the fresh local meal which will be made after your order. Expect to get some healthy foods such as; Nepali Dhal Bhat, MoMo, Macaroni, Noodles, Pizza, and others. Also, don’t miss out to taste the 100% Real Yak Cheese in Kyanjin, Langtang village. 

Important Tips: Don’t forget to bring tablets or filter to save the drinking water cost. You can also refill the safe drinking water (private expenses) from every teahouse situated in the Langtang region. 

Q. Which is the best season for Langtang Trek? 

A. The best seasons for Langtang Trek are Spring (March, April, May) and Autumn (September, October, November). In Langtang trek, you don’t need to pass the high altitude. Hence, it’s also possible to trek in the Winter season of Nepal (December, January, and February)

Q. What is the cost of Langtang Trek?

Langtang Trek 5 Days Itinerary

Day 1Drive to Syabrubesi (1,550m, 6-7 hrs)

After breakfast in Hotel, we will start our drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubeshi which is 145 km and takes about 6-7 hours. We drive along the scenic banks of Trishuli River with beautiful views of valleys, pasture, rivers and mountains. After reaching the destination. We will check-in to the hotel and spend the overnight.

Day 2Trek to Langtang village (3200m, 6-7 hrs)

Not to miss, we will have breakfast. Then, a pleasant walk through the rhododendron and pine forests which takes us to Ghoda Tabela. After having lunch here, we can enjoy the dense forests and herbs in the area. Another walk through a scenic trail finally takes us to the Langtang valley and overnight in Teahouse.

Day 3Trek to Kyangjin Gompa (3,870m, 3-4 hrs). Explore Kyangjin Ri (4500m)

The sixth day is a free time. After breakfast, we will take a walk for 2-3 hours to visit the Kyangjin Gompa at an altitude of 3870m. The final destination of the trek, the Gompa is a serene and beautiful place that allows us to have the scenic views of Mt. Ganchhenpo and Mt. Langtang Lirung. The cheese factory, the monasteries, and the traditional local houses are the main attractions of this short trip. Overnight in Teahouse.

After lunch, we will spend the whole day exploring Kyanjin Ri which will also help us acclimatize to the high altitude. The trail passes through yak pastures before ascending to Kyanjin Ri. Later, we will get back to Kyangjin Gompa by late afternoon and explore the beautiful monastery while enjoying views of the Himalayas, glaciers, birds, and yaks. We will follow the same trail back to Kyanjin Gompa and spend the night in the same hotel.

Day 4Trek to Lama Hotel (2380m, 6-7 hrs)

After having a hot breakfast, we will retrace our steps back to Lama Hotel. Most of the trekking today will be downhill as we pass through forests and beautiful Tamang villages. We also get to enjoy a different view of the Himalayas that we had missed climbing up. Overnight in Lama Hotel.

Day 5Trek back to Syabrubesi (1550m). Drive to Kathmandu

After breakfast, we will trek back to our steps through the Bamboo and rhododendron forests to finally reach Syabrubeshi. This is not a long day walk it only takes 5 hours. We will start our journey back to Kathmandu. Later, we can enjoy the evening walk around Thamel – the tourist spots in the capital city. Our guide will help to find the shop where you can buy souvenirs from Nepal. One of the Mount Mania representatives will invite you to attend a farewell dinner with a cultural show. Enjoy to the fullest.
