Dhorpatan trek lies in Baglung district. It is one of the remote treks in Nepal. It is also the headquarters of Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve. The flat dry pasture above the 4000m high tree-line which is organically called as ‘Patans’ and the flat open valley in which village itself is located known as ‘Dhor’. In this way, the name ‘Dhorpatan’ was born.

- Endangered species of pheasants & Partridge, mostly Chirr Pheasant and the nine different colored Danphe, the national bird of Nepal
