Dhorpatan trek lies in Baglung district. It is one of the remote treks in Nepal. It is also the headquarters of Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve. The flat dry pasture above the 4000m high tree-line which is organically called as ‘Patans’  and the flat open valley in which village itself is located known as ‘Dhor’. In this way, the name ‘Dhorpatan’ was born.

This trek is more suitable for real adventures lovers who should be ready to experience local culture and activities, basic food and accommodations with local people.  People in Dhorpatan are exceptionally friendly, amazing trails, spotless forest and meadows, sparkling rivers, and thrilling remote experience.

Major attractions in Dhorpatan Trek

  • Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve; Naturally and Culturally rich place. This hunting reserve is one and only hunting place in Nepal to hunt different habitats of blue sheep
  • Other species are Ghoral, Himalayan Tahr, Black Bear Pheasant and Partridge
  • Endangered species of pheasants & Partridge, mostly Chirr Pheasant and the nine different colored Danphe, the national bird of Nepal
