Dhampus Sarangkot Trek

Dhampus Sarangkot trek is one of the easy short treks in Nepal. It is an alternative trek to other popular treks – Ghorepani Poonhill. This trek combines the two most popular destinations: Dhampus and Sarangkot. Dhampus route offers local culture and tradition, ridge, magnificent view of Annapurna, Fishtail, Himchuli, and Dhaulagiri. Whereas, Sarangkot routes offer an amazing view of Pokhara valley and Fewa Lake.

Best Time:
  • Spring (Mar, Apr, May): You can see the national flower of Nepal rhododendron, green forest, best mountain view

  • Monsoon: Fine but it’s a rainy season, you should have a raincoat, be careful from the leech. In this season, most preferable for nature photographers who like flora and fauna, green forest, river, waterfalls and many more

Dhampus Sarangkot Trek: Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Kathmandu (1320m) and Transfer to Hotel

Welcome to Tribhuvan Int’l Airport, Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal! One of the representatives from Mount Mania will be waiting to welcome you with fresh Nepali garlands and then transfer to your hotel by private vehicle. You will meet with trek guide and then brief about Dhampus Sarangkot trek.

Day 2Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m)

After breakfast, we leave our hotel early morning for a drive with scenic views along the road to Pokhara via Prithivi national highway. The drive could take roughly 7-8 hrs to reach Pokhara. An alternative way to reach Pokhara is by taking a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara for 35 minutes. Overnight at Pokhara hotel on Bed and Breakfast plan. (B/B)

Day 3Drive to Milan Chowk. Trek to Astam (1468m)

After having a breakfast in Pokhara, our private vehicle will be ready to drop Hemja, Milan Chowk. The drive is about 35 minutes. Now, we will start our first day of trekking to Astam. Trekking routes are full of unique landscape, green valley, rice field and lots more. You will get the first sight view of Mt. Machhapuchhre. Crossing the dense forest will leads to Astam hillside. After the lunch, we will explore the Astam village. Overnight in a teahouse.

Day 4Trek from Astam to Australian Camp (2000m)

We will start our day with a hot breakfast. Today’s trekking will take us to another beautiful destination Australian Camp. Till to Dhampus (3-4 hours), the trekking path is full of uphill and downhill. You can enjoy the Himalayan landscape and mountains. To reach from Dhampus to Australian Camp, we will have to walk uphill for one and half hours. Overnight in a teahouse.

Day 5Trek from Australian camp to Sarangkot (1600m)

We will wake up with the view of the sunrise kissing the mountains from the beds. Australian Camp is the panoramic viewpoint for an Mt. Annapurna and Mt. Dhaulagiri as well as both sunrise and sunset. After having a breakfast, we will begin our trek to Sarangkot. Trekking path passes downhill and local village. We will reach Sarangkot after trekking for 5-6 hours. Overnight in a teahouse.

Day 6Drive from Sarangkot to Pokhara

Sarangkot is one of the popular sunrise and sunset view that you can experience from this trek. Also, the breathtaking view of Mt. Annapurna (8091m), Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Mt. Manaslu (8163m), Mt. Machhapuchhre (6993m), Mt. Annapurna South (7219m) and other mountains. Not to miss the Pokhara City and Fewa Lake. Now, we will take a private car to drive from Sarangkot to Pokhara (30 minutes). An alternative way to reach Pokhara is by taking a Paragliding. Paragliding is quite much popular among travelers. Total flight time is 20 minutes. Lastly, after reaching Pokhara, you can have personal time viewing the soothing fewa lake. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 7Drive to Kathmandu

After early breakfast at a hotel in Pokhara. We will check-out from hotel and catch our tourist bus which leaves at 7 AM to drive us to Kathmandu and the driving will be a fantastic experience as we drive past many small towns on the way and we are able to see rural settlements, gushing rivers, terraces, and green rural landscapes. We will stop for lunch in between the travel from Pokhara to Kathmandu. After 6 hours drive, we will arrive at Kathmandu and stay overnight at your hotel. One of the Mount Mania representatives will invite you to attend a farewell dinner with a cultural show. Enjoy the fullest.

Day 8Departure

Mount Mania representative will help you to transport to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu by private vehicle before 3 hours to your scheduled flight.
