How to reach Manaslu Circuit Trek? 

Two options to reach the starting point of Manaslu Circuit Trek:

  1. Local Bus
  2. Private Jeep

From the local bus, you will reach Arughat; the starting point of the trek. It is quite time-consuming and full of adventure while traveling from the bus which is 7-8 hours of off-road drive. Whereas, from the private jeep, you will reach Soti Khola. You will save whole one day if you travel by jeep. Traveling from Kathmandu to Soti Khola is around 6-7 hours of drive.

If you are on tight budget, then you can travel via local bus which cost around USD 8. Private Jeep cost is quite expensive but will save one day and is more comfortable.

Traveling from tourist bus is quite convenient as well as cheaper for any trekkers. The total drive hours from Kathmandu to Pokhara is 6-7 hours of the blacktopped road via Prithvi Highway. How to reach Upper Mustang? 

You can reach to Upper Mustang via following options:

Upper Mustang Trek can be done via overland. The drive to Beni from Pokhara (100km), which consists of blacktop road along the Kaligandaki river via Tatopani and World Deepest Gorge Dana climb to Kalopani (2400m). After reaching to Kalopani, you can view wide valley. Then, after 7-8 hours drive, we will reach to Jomsom (District Headquarter of Mustang). Half an hour drive will lead to Kagbeni. The land is a dry and wide valley.

Another option is taking an early morning flight from Pokhara to Jomsom and then hike to Kagbeni. The routes cross hanging bridges and following the Kali Gandaki River. The routes are deserts with sand and rock through the surrounding peaks i.e. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Tukuche Peak (6920m), Nilgiri, and Annapurna Ranges.

Kagbeni, a beautiful village is a start and end point for Upper Mustang Trek.
