Best time to trek Everest Base Camp is Spring and Autumn. Spring month starts from March to May. Whereas, Autumn month begins in September and ends in November.

Best Time to Trek Everest Base Camp (Spring)

Spring is the peak season to trek Everest Base Camp. In this season, it offers clear weather and average temperatures – ranging from -5 degree Celsius (minimum) to 18-degree Celsius (maximum). The average rainfall in the month of March to May is comparatively very low compared to the next month (June to August).

Spring is the perfect time to go for Everest Base Camp Trek. At this time, you can view mesmerizing mountains under the clear blue sky, warm temperature,  and a glimpse of blooming rhododendron flowers (April).

Around this time, the minimum average temperature is 5-degree Celsius and the maximum average temperature is 15-degree Celsius.

Expect to view clear mountains – Mt. Everest (8848m), Mt. Nuptse (7861m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6816m), Mt. Lhotse (8516m), Mt. Pumori (7161m), Mt. Thamserku (6608m), Mt. Lobuche East (6119m), Island Peak (6189m), Mt. Cholatse (6440m) and other mountain ranges.

In recent time, early December has also become popular among trekkers around the world. In this month, there is fewer crowds and temperature tends to decrease.

Rest of the month, January and February tend to be really cold. In Nepal, these two months are considered as winter. The average minimum and maximum temperature are minus 15-degree Celsius to 5-degree Celsius respectively. Beside that cold temperature, the weather is fairly dry with very less rainfall.

From June to August, it is considered as monsoon season. Expect rainfalls and heavy snowfalls in higher altitude. Be careful from leeches and muddy trek route.
